Donate Now
Thank you for lending support to the WUSC Shine a Light Campaign.
Even small donations of $2, $5, $10 and $20 can really make a difference when we have strength in numbers.
The first phase of our campaign focuses on raising money for safe, cost-effective solar lamps to enable girls to study at night. Once we’ve reached our goal of providing 1000 girls with access to solar-powered lamps, we use your donations to purchase other necessary tools such as remedial training, school supplies and scholarships for refugee girls in Kenya and Malawi.
1. Paypal
For smaller “micro-donations” below $20 this is your best option.
You can use your Paypal account (useful for those of you who have purchased on Ebay before) or a credit card.
The fee per transaction is lower for this option so this is why we encourage those to use it for donations below $20. For every donation Paypal will charge us 2.2% of the transaction amount.
You will NOT receive a charitable receipt with this option
2. Donate Directly Through Our Website
If you want to give a larger donation towards this cause we encourage you to visit our Artez donation page here.
This option will automatically send you a charitable donation receipt by email.

What does my donation buy?
Solar Lamps
Girls can use solar lamps to study in the evening after they’ve completed their household duties and provide a safe, cheap and sustainable light source. Every $10 donated will enable one more girl to access solar-powered light.
Remedial Training and School Supplies
Girls want to improve their school performance. When given an opportunity, the overwhelming majority of girls choose to pursue remedial education. Girls can succeed if we offering more classes, outside of daylight hours. Similarly, with school supplies such as books and uniforms, girls can enroll and remain in school.
Scholarships
Girls can attain better grades and a chance at higher education if we give them the chance to qualify for secondary school scholarships. Every $1000 raised will support one girl through secondary school.
